Garden Tip - Saving Fall Tomatoes

If you still have green tomatoes on plants when a freeze is coming, you can save your tomatoes and eat them as they ripen. This will work for any variety, large or small Pull the plants up by the roots, brush all the dirt off, snip off the leaves, and hang plants upside down with string or strips of old t-shirts. Hang them in a mudroom, porch, or closet, someplace dry where it won’t reach freezing temperatures. Eat tomatoes as they turn red, and you can enjoy them long after the freeze.
